Memorial Day Celebration at SharpShooters

What are you doing Memorial Day? Lots of people will be heading to the lake or the beach, which is always fun. If the lake or the beach isn’t your game, then we’ve got you covered. SharpShooters is hosting a “community day” to provide the north Fulton community with a very simple and fun way to raise support our US Military Veterans.

Quick summary: Food Truck Burgers for lunch, ice cream truck at 3, BBQ dinner at 6, police K9s, Marine Trucks, Veterans floats, Police Armored Vehicle, raffles, giveaways, and America America America!

Want to help us get the word out? Here’s the “official” brochure (PDF). Feel free to download, print, and share with a friend.

Everyone Shoots Free on Memorial Day

That’s right: no lane fees for anyone all day Memorial Day, from 11AM-8PM. Memorial Day is about celebrating and honoring the lives of our service men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. They died for our freedom. We are blessed to give a little freedom here on Memorial Day. Again, no lane fees. Everyone shoots free all day Monday May 31.

Memorial Day Veterans Fundraiser

All range targets will be either $5 or $10. You choose the amount of your donation, because every dollar from the sales of targets on Memorial Day will go to a 501(c)(3) charity, VetBuds, whose mission is to provide college tuition for Veterans. So, you shoot free, buy a $5 or $10 target, making a donation to helping vets pay for college, and each target puts you in a drawing for some free prizes (keep reading!)

UPDATE: If you can’t be here on Monday, but would like to contribute, you can “buy a target” (or two) here.

Free Prizes!

Each target you shoot puts you in a drawing for either (1) a Smith & Wesson M&P 9 2.0 9MM pistol or (2) A Day at the Range for 4 People. The S&W Pistol is self explanatory. It’s S&W’s top of the line 9MM semi-auto pistol that comes with 2 magazines. Every $5 target you shoot gets you another chance to win this fine firearm.

The Day at the Range for 4 People is a treat! Four people shoot as long as they want, rent as many guns as they want, get as many free targets as they want, get free eye & ear protection, and up to 500 rounds of ammo. Yes, five-hundred rounds of ammunition. Yeah, we did that. So buy a target or 3, enter the raffle as many times as you like, help Veterans go to college, and maybe even win a fantastic prize! Every $10 target you shoot earns you another chance at this day of firing fun.

FOOD, glorious Memorial Day FOOD!

Here’s the schedule for all the foods that we’ll be bringing to you on Monday May 31. RSVP HERE.

  • The Patty Wagon Food Truck: 12PM – 2PM. We thought hamburgers were appropriate for this American Holiday, and the Patty Wagon was happy to serve. Check out their Food Truck menu here. (~$10-12/plate)
  • The Atlanta Ice Cream Truck: 3PM – 4PM. It’s gonna be in the low to mid 80s that day, so we’ve invited the Atlanta Ice Cream Truck to stop by from 3-4 and give you some cooling off treats! Their menu is here. (~$1-$3/treat)
  • Claude’s Q: 6PM – 8PM. Check out their YouTube channel. They’re a hoot! They travel around the south reviewing BBQ, by which mean eating the BBQ and talking about it online. What a country! Pulled pork, pulled chicken, slaw, beans, and dessert! The BBQ is FREE! Our treat!

So. Much. More. Memorial Day Fun!

But wait, there’s more! For your afternoon of enjoyment, we also have these awesome community supporters coming to SharpShooters to help us raise money to pay for Veterans’ college tuition.

  • The Alpharetta Police K9s Raider & Hammer will be on site from about noon until 4pm. Meet the dogs and their handlers, and see what these amazing animals can do. Check out their Instagrams here, here, and of course K9 Mattis (retired) here. They’re celebrities.
  • The local United States Marine Corps Recruiting Truck will be here at 12Noon. You don’t have to join up, but you can give them a snappy salute, and buy them an ice cream. They may or may not have USMC swag.
  • The Alpharetta Police Armored Rescue Vehicle will make an appearance that afternoon. Don’t get in trouble, and this is the only time you’ll see this unit.
  • The Patriot Guard Riders and the Killer Creek Harley Owners Club are stopping by for a mid-day ice cream treat. These guys are the real deal and they are a lot of fun.
  • The US Navy Submarine Veterans Parade Float will be here most of the day. Check ’em out below! What’s not to love?!?

This celebration is our way of honoring those who died for our freedom, helping out today’s Military Veterans, and inviting the local community to a fantastic local event to celebrate Memorial Day 2021.

We do need to know approximately how many people to expect, so if you wouldn’t mind, could you click the button below to RSVP?
