The Applied Pistol 1 course adds movement, stress, malfunctions, cover, concealment, and different shooting positions to the shooter’s fundamental skills.






The Applied Pistol 1 course is taught by Maddy Scholar.

Up to this point, students have learned fundamentals skills to prepare them for this course. The purpose of this course is to combine all of the fundamentals skills with the addition of the following:

  • Movement
  • Various positions (kneeling, sitting, on the stomach, etc.)
  • Introduction to cover/concealment
  • Malfunctions
  • Critical thinking under stress

Equipment Provided:

  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection

Equipment Required:

  • Firearm
  • Minimum 150-200 rounds of ammunition
  • Kydex holster (no cloth or leather)
  • 2 magazines with mag pouches
  • Clothing that you are not afraid to get dirty
  • Tennis shoes/boots
  • 1 package of snap caps (fake rounds)
  • (optional) knee pads

Minimum Number of Students: 4
