Handgun Presentation and CCW Fundamentals

Course Prerequisites:

  • Completion of introductory firearms course AND first series of skill builder courses OR prior approval from Instructor
  • Able to legally possess and carry a firearm
  • Able to demonstrate and employ safe weapon handling during course of fire
  • Minimum number of students:  4

Equipment provided:

  • Eye protection; and
  • Electronic ear protection

Equipment required:

  • Inside the waistband and/or outside the waistband carry holster
  • Conceal carry firearm
  • Conceal garment (jacket, tshirt, shirt, coat – no purses, ankle hosters, etc.)
  • 1 magazine
  • 50 rounds ammunition minimum






The Handgun Presentation and CCW Fundamentals course is taught by Maddy Scholar.

Handgun Presentation and Concealed Carry Fundamentals is a training course designed for the individual who has an understanding of handgun fundamentals; consistently deploys all four (4) firearms safety rules; and is looking to learn how to safely and effectively carry, conceal and use a handgun for personal protection. The Handgun Presentation and CCW Fundamentals class will also discuss how to handle and react to situations during concealed carry. Classroom and range time will be combined to build the motor skills necessary to stay safe under stress while deploying the handgun from a holster with and without a  covering garment.

This is not a beginner pistol class and shooters are expected to already have the ability to safely handle and employ a pistol.

Instructional Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Gun and holster selection
  • Conceal carry modes and types of concealment
  • Drawing from an open carry holster and concealment
  • Mindset
