When you go to a golf driving range, you typically pay for a bucket of range balls, and then you head to an open spot. You hit those range balls, and then you either get some more range balls, go to the putting green, or head home. If it takes you an hour to hit those range balls, you take an hour. If it takes you 47 minutes or 27 minutes, that’s how long it takes. Contrast that with many indoor shooting ranges who charge by the hour. We’re on the side of the golf ranges. Your time on the SharpShooters range is your unlimited range time. Stay as long as you like. Here’s why.
Shooting is a Form of Relaxation
We have stress. Tons of stress. Shooting as a hobby can be very relaxing, even healthy. Many of our patrons shoot not just to improve, but to relieve stress. There is no time limit on stress relief. If you rent a lane and dry fire, then do several shooting drills, then make it a friendly competition with a friend, that may take 40 minutes or it may take an hour. That’s up to you, not us.
Some People May Need a Lot of Work
For really good shooters, “practice” might mean 5 drills using 10 rounds each. They know their routine and they know the results they expect. For others, working on more basic skills, the “routine” is not yet developed. Different shooters progress at different paces. The amount of practice you need — or want — is up to you, not us.
It Doesn’t Take That Long
No matter what you’re learning, practicing, or trying for the first time, it’s usually not the case for anyone to shoot more than 100 rounds or so in any range session. In our experience, that just doesn’t take that long. Sure, you could stretch it if you measure every single shot you take or if you’re studying your form via video on every shot. But again, that’s not the norm. Even if you set out to fire 500 rounds, we’re not talking about hours and hours here. We’re not going to put an arbitrary limit on your time at the range.
