Breakdown: The Best Review Ever

In the modern local small business world, reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, and other sites have a big impact on a small business’ ability to grow and attract new customers. We’ve received our fair share of negative reviews, and I do my best to directly address them all. Whether you like him or not, Bill Gates was very astute when he pointed out, “your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.” Indeed, we have learned something from every negative review we’ve received. But not today! Today, we’re celebrating, breaking down, and highlighting the best review ever.

The Best Review Ever

Here’s the actual text of the review, which you can read on Google here.

Best gun range I’ve ever been to! I’ve been coming to Sharpshooters for a couple of years now. I have a handful of ranges by my house, but I drive an hour away for Sharpshooter’s excellent service! I’ve bought, sold, and traded guns and other things from them with no issues! The training classes they offer are like no other. Very educational and hands on real life scenarios, will make you more prepared. They DO NOT charge by the hour but only $20 to shoot all day. An additional $15 if you bring someone with you. Only $10 for active law enforcement, fire, EMS, and active/reserve military. Bring your kids too… but they must be 12 years or older accompanied by an adult to shoot. Just an FYI before you bring the little ones with you. Make sure you do the range waiver via their website. It’ll save time after watching an informative video and signing, you’ll be ready to shoot upon arrival. They’re open seven days a week and have an excellent inventory of guns, Vaultek safes, and more! All prices are great prices compared to others in the area. One of the best parts about the range is that you CAN rapid fire! As long as it’s controlled well and you don’t take out any lights or go crazy, you’ll be ok! They’re big on safety and have very alert range officers. This will give you a more, “At peace” feeling while shooting. They help you with a smile if you have any trouble at the range. It also gives you sense of added safety from people who flag others at the range. The range officers will quickly spot out any dangers before they even happen. Before going into the range they hold your ID which I think is a good thing. They have 24 ballistic glass panel bays. Which protects and has great sound blocking atmosphere. Even when it’s crowded you’ll be able to shoot away in no time. Finally decided to become a member and they offer so much perks with membership! You get a card with your picture on it. Also you get discount on firearms, ammo, accessories, and more! Ask for more info and the membership plans they offer are definitely worth it! Josh who is their gunsmith is so knowledgeable and helpful! If you have a problem with your gun, red dot, stripped screws, or anything he’s the man to see! Plus they have a great cerakote service! Check the pictures on their website and the prices are perfect! They also let you draw from the holster after completing a class on it. You have to be a member but I’m telling you it’s worth it! They’re NOTHING like many egotistical power tripping ranges I’ve frequented over the years. Very relaxing and chill environment all the while implementing safety the right way! Please give them a try and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Breaking Down the Best Review Ever

If you’ll indulge me, I’d like to highlight a few of Mr. Williams’ statements here and add some commentary to them.

  • I have a handful of ranges by my house, but I drive an hour away for Sharpshooter’s excellent service!

Why would anyone do that? One reason: customer experience. Everyone’s expectations of a shooting range are different, but the one thing we can control is your experience at our range. Our goal isn’t just for you to come here, shoot, shop, and get what you need. No, our goal is to DELIGHT you every time you come through our doors.

  • The training classes they offer are like no other. Very educational and hands on real life scenarios, will make you more prepared.

If you follow Maddy on Instagram, you’ll see quickly that she actually spends most of her time getting more training, so she can share what she learns from other experts with you. Melissa has take a very unique approach to creating a training path that moves every shooter from where they are to where they want to be. It’s not random!

  • They DO NOT charge by the hour but only $20 to shoot all day.

This one’s easy: why limit people’s fun?!? We studied the numbers, and learned that, on average, people shoot at our range for about 40-45 minutes. There’s no need to limit anyone to an hour, so we don’t. Shoot all day if you like!

  • Make sure you do the range waiver via their website. It’ll save time after watching an informative video and signing, you’ll be ready to shoot upon arrival.

Ahhh, the dreaded insurance waiver. What a gigantic pain in the…but it’s necessary from an insurance perspective. As you can imagine, with bullets flying just a few steps away from a retail showroom, our insurance is not exactly cheap, so this waiver is one of many things we do with a smile on our face to help keep you safe and our costs down.

  • One of the best parts about the range is that you CAN rapid fire! As long as it’s controlled well and you don’t take out any lights or go crazy, you’ll be ok!

It’s true. I just recently learned of an outdoor range in Texas, of all places, that allows only one shot per second at most. Here? We love us some full auto. Bring it! Just don’t shoot our walls or ceilings or floors.

  • They’re big on safety and have very alert range officers.

Also an insurance requirement, but we’d do it anyway, even if it weren’t required by insurance. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do to provide a safe, family friendly customer experience. If someone doesn’t feel safe, even if they actually are, then they are not coming back.

  • Finally decided to become a member and they offer so much perks with membership!

Yes, we do. How about no lane fees ever, and 10% off of every purchase, including guns, ammo, and training? That adds up! You buy a Daniel Defense DDM4v7 Pro, a Geissele Super Duty 5.56, or a CZ Parrot, and 10% pays back a large portion of your annual membership cost.

  • Josh who is their gunsmith is so knowledgeable and helpful! If you have a problem with your gun, red dot, stripped screws, or anything he’s the man to see! Plus they have a great cerakote service.

Josh would never admit to being the nicest gunsmith in the south. “I’ve got a reputation to uphold!” he would say. But it’s true. If you’ve got any issue with one of your firearms, he’s the guy to hand it to. Just don’t add to the jar on his table.

  • They also let you draw from the holster after completing a class on it. You have to be a member.

Correct. Members can train, pass the qualification test, and then draw from the holster on the range. We view that as a perk. However, many folks are under the impression that anyone should be able to holster draw. Some ranges will allow anyone to do that, but we won’t. Here’s why: unless you’ve been trained in how to properly and safely draw your firearm from a holster and return your firearm to the holster, there are 73 different ways (I made that number up) that you can shoot yourself or someone near you.

Thank you, Mr. Williams, for taking the time to write such an amazing review. We are humbled, honored, and very happy to have your business. We will strive to live up to everything you’ve said here every single day.
