FIREARMS TRAINING CLASSES

We are happy to offer not only training classes, but full training curriculum for pistol, rifle and shotgun use. We continually analyze and adjust our training offerings to create a training path to upgrade anyone’s firearm skills. Whether you’re starting from “I’ve never held a gun” or picking up where your Military training left off, SharpShooters Instructors and training curriculum can help you achieve your firearms training goals.

Private Firearms Training Lessons – Private Firearms Training Lessons are offered for those shooters who seek a more personal firearm session; flexibility with a training schedule; or to focus on specific firearm skills.

Intro to Defensive Pistol – This in-depth two (2) hour class is an introductory firearms course and will lay the proper foundations for you to build upon as you continue through your progression of skill. This class focuses on and begins to open the conversation regarding the use of a firearm in a self-defense situation.

Concealed Carry – Holster Draws – After you have developed a basic understanding of pistol shooting, it is time to polish your skills and begin to develop the next crucial skill that is essential to range based training and concealed carry: Holster Draws.

Applied Movement – After taking In-Depth Pistol, you are now capable of safely drawing from the holster which opens up the opportunity to incorporate movement into your skill set.

Applied Positioning –  This class gives you a chance to apply the fundamentals to shooting from various positions.  The concepts of cover and concealment are introduced into your skill set.

Shooting Under Stress – This class utilizes a series of fitness exercises to increase the shooters heart rate and induce stress prior to completing shooting drills and basic manipulations. Additionally, drills will encompass various challenges that will force the shooter to have to think and act under time stressors. It is designed for shooters who have a good understanding of the fundamentals of pistol shooting and are able to apply those fundamentals safely. 

Red Dot Workshop – This class is for those who already have a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of shooting and are now ready to learn how to use a weapons mounted optic.   

Low-Light / No-Light Pistol Home Defense – This course is designed to help students develop an understanding of  basic firearm manipulation with a weapon mounted light or handheld light  in low-light / no-light situations.

Intro to USPSA Competition – Fundamentals – This course will give students the opportunity to learn the rules applied to a USPSA competition match as well as experience a live fire competition stage. It is perfect for those looking to learn a new discipline as well as those wanting to brush up on the USPSA rules and get a little live fire practice in as well.

No steel cased or steel projectile ammunition allowed.

Private Firearms Training Lessons – Private Firearms Training Lessons are offered for those shooters who seek a more personal firearm session; flexibility with a training schedule; or to focus on specific firearm skills.

AR-15 Level 1: Rifle Introduction and Manipulation – This course is designed for the shooter who has little to no experience shooting an AR-15 type firearm or who would like a refresher on the fundamentals. The course is ideal for the new AR-15 owner who desires to begin the path of mastering their rifle. This class intentionally maintains a small student to instructor ratio, (maximum 8 students) to ensure each student receives the necessary attention from the instructors. It will incorporate both classroom and range time. Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. The course will require a minimum of 60 rounds of ammunition. 

AR-15 Level 2:  Practical Rifle – This course is not designed for the beginner level shooter. The course is ideal for the intermediate level AR-15 owner who desires to continue on the path of mastering their rifle.  
 

AR-15 Level 3: Dynamic Rifle – This course is not designed for the beginner level shooter. The course is ideal for the advanced level AR-15 owner who desires to continue on the path of mastering their rifle.

 AR-15 Cleaning & MaintenanceDo you own an AR-15 rifle or pistol? One of the most valuable things you can learn, and do, is how to break down, clean, and maintain your firearm. Upcoming dates are:

Defensive Shotgun Level 1 – Defensive Shotgun: Level 1 is a comprehensive course designed for the shooter who has little to no experience shooting a shotgun, or for the user who has decided to use a shotgun for defense purposes. 

Defensive Shotgun Level 2 – Defensive Shotgun Level 2 continues to build on the basic skills learned in the level 1 course. Students will review select topics from level 1 and then move into more advanced techniques that will help you become proficient and competent while employing the shotgun.

Defensive Shotgun Level 3: The Other Side: This course discusses the use of cover and concealment, engaging multiple threats, conducting emergency reloads, and taking decisive action when you’re out of ammunition.

AHA Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED – The Heartsaver First Aid and CPR/AED Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult,child and Infant CPR, and AED.

All About Optics Workshop  – Understanding Optics and what optics are best to choose for the end users’ intended purposes. 

Red Dot Workshop – This class is for those who have already have a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of shooting.  

Active Shooter Defense: Deterrence, Action, Response and Training (DART):  This course is designed to take a comprehensive dive into the DART process and learn survivability techniques that may save your life as well as the life of others should a threat from an active shooter arise.
